About Me

Living the Hoochie life, commercial fishing on Grandpa’s boat in Sitka, AK maybe 1985

From the rugged Alaskan coastline to the diverse landscapes of Oregon, my journey has been one of constant exploration and discovery. Born and raised in Sitka, Alaska, I developed an early appreciation for the raw beauty of the Pacific Northwest that has only deepened over time.

A Life Shaped by the PNW

My Oregon adventure began in 1998 when I moved to Corvallis for college. Those early years were filled with hiking trails, snowboarding at Mt. Bachelor and Santiam Pass, and falling in love with the state’s natural wonders. A season working at Crater Lake National Park further immersed me in Oregon’s breathtaking scenery and rich history.

Medford became my home for five years, serving as a base for exploring Southern Oregon’s treasures. From carving turns at Mt. Ashland to camping along the coast and venturing into Klamath Falls, I embraced every opportunity to uncover the region’s hidden gems.

Broadening Horizons

My journey took me beyond Oregon’s borders, with stints in Tacoma, Washington, and various locations during my Air Force service. These experiences, including deployments to Iraq and Turkey, gave me a global perspective that I now apply to my exploration and appreciation of the Pacific Northwest.

Returning Home

After my military service, I was drawn back to Oregon, first returning to Medford before settling in the Portland area. Here, I’ve continued my lifelong passion for exploration, now with a focus on family and dog-friendly adventures throughout the region.
